Monday means the return of workers to the land. This Monday also meant the delivery of our appliances. The delivery guys got a little lost, but they eventually found their way to our house.

In a humorous sub-story, while directing them to our land, the driver asked “Is there room for a 36 foot truck to turn around?” ”Sure,” I assured him. Did I REALLY know if he would be able to turn around? Of course not! I have ZERO comprehension of how big that truck is compared to our driveway/parking area…. but I wanted my damn appliances, and if I had said no, what would he do? Take them back? CARRY them up the 1200 foot driveway? I think not. You’ll figure it out when you get up there, delivery man. Turns out, he had plenty of room. No harm, no foul.

In additional to lovely sparkly new appliances (including a dishwasher —-cue Hallelujah Chorus —-), we also had the flooring people. When I arrived around 9:30am, they had the flooring base down in the kitchen. By the end of the day we had a lovely piece of vinyl flooring in place and pieces ready to be placed into the bathrooms. That means tomorrow the guys start assembling our kitchen! I CANNOT wait to see how that looks.

Downstairs poor Donnie was working ALL ALONE on the sanding job in the family room. The drywall is all sanded there and ready for primer. One of Eric’s guys was working on the switches too because now we have all of the outside lights on a switch and they look great. I ran to Williamsport to buy more paint today (5 more gallons of ceiling paint, 3 gallons of wall paint for the family room, 3rd bathroom, laundry room and entry way, 2 gallons of trim paint and 4 gallons of an eggshell white paint for the garage ceiling and walls…. I swear when I walk into that paint store those guys just see dollar signs!) Hopefully we (or just I) will be back to painting on Wednesday in the family room.

As for my last picture - I have been trying to find a bow, a very very large bow to put on our house. Turns out, if you want to BUY a large bow, like the ones you see in the car commercials, you have to shell out over $60 (more if you want a red one) plus shipping. No thanks! I went to Michaels today and bought two rolls of red mesh and made my own. I may not post a completed picture tomorrow because I think it will be our “Happy New Year, We Are Moving” card picture. (PS: That is why you haven’t gotten our Christmas card yet…. we are waiting for the bow…)

Much progress and more to come tomorrow! Very exciting!
